Zachary Schechter-Steinberg, a former a senior staff member of the United States Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, has joined Better Markets in Washington, D.C.

“Zach was also Senator Tom Harkin’s lead staff member during the formulation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, including during the House-Senate Conference Committee.”

Prior to joining Better Markets, Schechter-Steinberg served as the Senior Economic Advisor on the United States Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions under the leadership of Tom Harkin, the just-retired Chairperson.

In this capacity, he served as the Committee’s lead staff member on a number of labor and economic policy issues.

He also provided counsel to Chairman Harkin on banking, housing, tax, and trade issues during his tenure on the Committee.

Prior to serving on the Committee, he was a Legislative Assistant for Senator Harkin.

Schechter-Steinberg holds a BA from Wesleyan University.
